Autumn Equinox Festival
Pagan Pride Day
The CNY Pagan Pride Day / Autumn Equinox Festival, scheduled for Sep 19, 2020, will be postponed until 2021 because of COVID-19.
Like almost everyone else, we’ve been paying close attention to updates coming out of reliable sources. It is true that some spaces are slowly reopening, and also that in some places there has been some reduction in the number of new cases, but given the size and nature of our annual festival, we are simply not willing to accept the risk of possibly infecting a majority of the Pagan population of CNY.
We hope that conditions continue to ease and that we can begin to gather in small groups once more, but we fear that large gatherings are out of the question for this year. For those vendors who have already submitted contracts for 2020; we will be in touch with you directly in the week to come. We know this news is disappointing, but Pagan Pride is more than just a single day, more than just a festival, more than an annual gathering. We are a community, a couple thousand amazing, spiritual individuals who, together, will emerge from this thing stronger and wiser.
Please stay tuned. Maybe we can’t put on the kind of festival that you’re used to attending, but we’re still working toward putting something together.
Central New York's local observance of Pagan Pride Day.
Our festival has many interlinking goals and purposes. We try to keep our purpose balanced through the inspirations of the elements:
Air : Education
We are not going to be able to practice our spiritual paths openly if we do not give the public accurate information about what we practice.
Fire : Activism
We have to have the courage to act on our convictions and do what we need to do.
Water : Charity
What we do returns to us. We need to demonstrate this by offering compassion to our communities where it is needed.
Earth : Community
We need to weave networking webs in our cities, towns and rural areas of support for one another.
